Step Aside Dance stands for quality in teaching; we aim to inspire the students, to enhance their technical ability and to continually bring students to the next level.
From the age of three, Bianca has been engaged in all genres of the Performing Arts including, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Singing, Drama, Broadway, Acro and Lyrical. Her performances in dance and acting have seen her travel not only within Australia, but to Japan and America.
With increasing success at examination and performance levels, Bianca continued her passion, competing at the American Dance Championships in Las Vegas and gaining 1st Place at the World Dance Championships in Orlanda, Florida. She has since enjoyed working alongside Dean Perry in the Tap segment and Kylie Minogue’s Jazz segment of the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening & Closing Ceremonies. She has taught in several Sydney based dance studios and as a qualified Dance & Drama high school teacher has been responsible for many successful school productions. Her passion and dedication towards the development of her pupils is unmatched in many studios around Sydney.
Over many years, Bianca has kept a close association with Showcase The Australian Dance Championships, which has seen her in the role as choreographer for Australian Dance Idol auditions and assisting at the annual Finals of the Australian Dance Championships on the Gold Coast.
Bianca’s acting success has seen her appear in the Mini Series Brides of Christ, many TV commercials, and several guest roles in TV series such as Water Rats, Police Rescue, A Country Practice and Home & Away.
With the completion of her Full-Time Performing Arts Course at Brent Street, a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Education at the University of NSW and University of California in Santa Barbara, Bianca is excited to embark on this exciting journey at Step Aside.
LAURA CAMPBELL (Tap, Hip Hop, Drama, Ballet, Contemporary)
Laura has studied and performed a range of dance styles over twenty years. These include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Brazilian Samba. Laura has also travelled to Melbourne to take classes at the Melbourne International Tap Festival with American Tappers, Jason Samuels-Smith and Chloe Arnold and recently to New York to take classes at the prestigious Broadway Dance Centre. She has used this training to develop a passion for dance in her students both in class and on the stage.
In 2007 Laura completed a Bachelor Arts (Dance)/Bachelor of Education through the University of New South Wales and has since been teaching Dance and Drama at a number of high schools across Sydney. This course provided her the opportunity to work with a number of professional choreographers such as Tom Hodgson, Narelle Benjamin and Sue Healey, and to choreograph performances for professional shows.
Laura’s classes are fun, energetic, and definitely a workout!
Over the past 10 years, Rebecca has worked as a professional dancer with Spirit Productions touring Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, the USA, Europe and Asia. She has performed in many shows including Dancing Queen, Spirit of The Dance and Hot Broadway. She was a featured dancer on the Millennium Cruise Liner, performing in Strictly Ballroom, Boogie Wonderland, and I Broadway. Over the years, Rebecca has gained a wealth of experience working with many choreographers such as Alan Harding, Brian Rogers and Ben Lokey. She is trained in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Irish Soft & Hard Shoe, Ballroom, Latin and is also a certified Level 1 Hatha Yoga teacher. Rebecca is very pleased to be a part of the team at Stepaside Studios.
